Stantec has opened a new office in downtown Columbia, South Carolina and named area resident and transportation engineer David Taylor, PE, as managing principal and office leader. This is the second South Carolina location for Stantec, which currently has a 31-person office in North Charleston.
“I am excited to be on the Stantec team and establish this new location for us right in the heart of South Carolina,” says Taylor. Over the course of a 30-year engineering career in the area, Taylor has been involved with the design and delivery of a diverse range of transportation engineering projects.
The new office will augment Stantec’s current presence in the Carolinas, which currently include offices in North Charleston, South Carolina; and Charlotte, Raleigh, and Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The Columbia location houses professionals that provide water/wastewater engineering, roadway and bridge design, and environmental services to public, private, and federal sector clients.
“We will provide our full range of engineering and environmental services to the local community, businesses and industry, while building on strong current relationships with clients such as the South Carolina Department of Transportation,” says Rick Day, principal in Stantec’s transportation group. In addition, Columbia will be an important hub for the firm’s work in central and northern South Carolina, including the redesign of historic Finlay Park, located blocks away from the new office location.
The new office location is:
