The most important legislation to your profession needs a push by you now.
The Engineers’ and Surveyors’ Practice Act has been rewritten by the SC State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Surveyors. Two bills with the new language were introduced last year, one in the SC House of Representative (H.3832) and one in the SC Senate (S.497).
These bills, if not passed, will die in June. Therefore, the General Assembly must hear from you, the professional engineer or surveyor, that these bills are important to you for your livelihood.
I am appealing to you as a professional engineer and/or surveyor to communicate with your House member and Senator and ask for their help to see that these bills are passed this session.
Your message can be simple: “Please talk to your colleagues in the House and Senate and ask them to act on these bills. Currently the bills are in the House and Senate Labor Commerce and Industry Committees.”
If you are not sure who your House member or Senator is, click here to find out. Then get in touch with both of them. For best results follow this order of communication: 1. Visit your House member and Senator, 2. Call your House member and Senator 3. Email your House member and Senator. 4. Write your House members and Senator at their Columbia address.
