In an effort to fulfill ACEC-SC’s objective: “to influence future engineers to choose careers in consulting engineering,” ACEC-SC gives a $3,500.00 scholarship annually to a deserving rising junior or senior at an ABET/EAC accredited State School.
Scholarship Committee Chair Randy Patrick, Michael Baker International, and ACEC-SC Board of Directors members, Kylie Page, Terracon, Kevin Shoemake, Thomas & Hutton, and Emily Swearingen, AECOM, reviewed 20 detailed applications. After reviewing the applications, Michael Oswald from the University of South Carolina was given the $3,500.00 Scholarship for next school year. Oswald is currently interning at Alliance Consulting Engineers, Inc. , an ACEC-SC Member Firm.
ACEC-SC is able to give this scholarship as well as the member firm scholarship, which gives an employee at a member firm a scholarship to put towards student debt, annually by raising money at the annual Scholarship Golf Tournament. Help be a part of giving these scholarships by sponsoring a team this year at our golf tournament on April 25, 2016 at The Spur at Northwoods in Columbia, SC.
